Between Two Planes consists of a sculptural artwork, created by capturing the shadows of native Australian flora, transforming the ephemeral nature of shadows into physical matter. The sculpture embodies the natural shadows of the Australian landscape within a juxtaposing seascape. Warm hues reminiscent of the dry Australian landscape are used within the artwork, contrasting the cool biological tones of the watery exhibition space.
Between Two Planes explores the ephemeral nature of light and shadow, transforming the shadows of the harsh Australian natural landscape into a three-dimensional work placed within a juxtaposing seascape, creating a third landscape, an amalgamation of land and sea.
